I thought Tammy’s video was really original and thoughtful
To Becky Lovatt’s second video
I find this a very impressive video because it shows all the different ways of suffering we might think of and the background music is very well chosen, very slow and sad, and underlines the pictures shown. It all fits very well together.
To Steven 1’s video
I don’t like this video very much. I can’t relate the majority of the pictures to suffering. In my opinion the only pictures of suffering are at the beginning and so I think the video somehow missed the subject.
Joe’s Video
I liked this video because it showed not only suffering itself, but also showed examples of how we can overcome suffering and in my opinion the two are inextricably linked. I thought the video was a bit short but the music suited it well.
Tatjana’s Video
This video was good because it showed examples of suffering in the past as well as the future which not everybody did. I thought the video would have been better if it had included images related to suffering but not of suffering itself as well. Also the video showed animal suffering as well which again not many others touched upon.
Joel’s Video
This video covered many types of suffering in a very short amount of time which was something I found difficult to do. The pictures were, however very similar to other video’s but the music was timed well to work with the length of the video.
homework – comments on videos
ellen millard’s video – She had very moving pictures and a song that went with them well. For improvement, perhaps there could be more pistures
william smith’s video – The music was different to everyone else’s and suited the pictures and he had many pictures portraying suffering. There could be more of a theme or link between the pictures.
alic broughton’s video – I think the choice of music was very appropriate and the use of a photo of Hitler as a depiction of evil was very good. For improvement, she could have made the pictures more connected.
Personally i thought that the videos were all very similar. I enjoyed Myran’s choice of a fast track rather than a depressing one; the images of suffering all tended to be either third world poverty based, my favourite one’s were the one’s that incorporated western suffering, for example that of depression and suicide.
[The one with the soundtrack by Everlast is mine]
Joe Asquith-
I like this one, because it shows both sides of the story. It shows suffering and pain, but it also shows how the people suffering are helped. The one thing that could be improved was the soundtrack – the song didnt seem to have any connection with suffering, it was just another slow song.
William Smith-
I liked the variety of pictures put into this one. They covered all aspects of suffering, not just poverty and the other stereotypical types. The choice of music also really set the mood for the clip. However, the variety of pictures made it a little hard to follow.
I liked joel’s video because it showed a range of suffering and had pictures of people from around the world. One thing i think he could improve is the song, i think this song matches the mood of the video, but doesnt have much meaning towards what the video means.
I also liked williams video because it had an unusual choice of music, and showed a part of suffering not many people showed properly, homelessness and illness. I think he could’ve improved it by possibly using more images or focusing it more.
Ellen-
3 good things
*It shows the reality of suffering, not holding back with the images
*The music is very emotional and the lyrics fit to the images
*There is a variety of images
3 improvements
*To use more images as they are already quite strong
*Maybe use a theme to the video
*Organise the images so its not one theme at a time
William-
3 good things
*The images are very strong
*There are a range of images
*The images take the focus point instead of the music- focuses on the subject more
3 improvements-
*To use stronger music to emphasise the message of the images
*Organizing the images so its not set out one theme after another
*To focus on suffering worldwide, using a broader theme
Becky
3 good things
*You did two videos- a lot of images!
*Both songs suit the images and are powerful
* You used a theme in both
3 improvements
* To use a broader range of images, not focusing on just one theme
* To use more images
* Oraganise the images so they aren’t as ordered in terms of subjects and themes
The videos I watched were Alice B’s and Hannah Dar’s.
Alice:
I really enjoyed watching her video as it included many, very powerful images in and I could tell that she had thought very carefully about it. I also noticed that you included religious pictures of Jesus. This was a really good idea as it shows the contrast between the devil and Jesus. It also makes you think that if there really is a God, how could he let this suffering happen?
However, she could ahve included more inages and maybe have had a theme.
Hannah:
This was also one of my favourite videos I watched. I thought that her choice of song went very well with thw topic, Her pictures were also different from everybody elses as a lot of people ahd the same.
However, it was very short so yuo could have made it longer. You could have also therefore included many more pictures.
i reviewd two peoples’ videos and thought they were quite good but some parts were a bit llacking and confusing. The two peoples’ videos i whatched was danny j annd myrans’. I hope i do not offend them in any way but i am just giving my articulate overview on the videos. Firstly, Dannys’pictures included everything to do with the issue of suffering and so did myrans’. however, one of the videos music choice wasnt really a sad melody to choose and this made the idea of suffering a joke in a way. That person may think that suffering is a joke of or that we should not worry about it, but the other persons’ video showed that it was a real issue as there music portrayed that and gave the audience a feeling of suffering. This made the audience feel sypathy and this is a good thing as we realise what we have instead of the people in the video. matthew

Good Pictures
Could be longer
Reema:
Good Pictures
Good Length
Different song?
Reemas video-The images used were very good, they all showed a different aspect of suffering,
The music was sombre, just like the images, the two were matched well.
It was a little bit short though
Julia- Very emotive pictures, that were chosen well,. The film was just the right length-not to long, not to short.
Maybe include some more images on animals suffering or other forms of suffering
Reema- god mix of pictures. the music suited the theme of suffering well.
It was a little bit short
Julia- each picture was very emotive.the video was just the right legth- not to long, not to short
maybe try adding picture of other forms of suffering, for example the suffering of animals
Reema’s
*Good range of different images
*Covered all suffering issues in the world
-Make images more shocking to make audience want to do something about it.
Ellen’s
*Very apt music
*Good use of very striking images
-Cover more areas of suffering
